Sometimes I will make something different in my shop. This is a tensegrity (floating) chess board. The board is made from Sequoia redwood and white cedar, the base is popular wood. 400# monofilament is used to suspend the table. Chess board is 17"x17" with 2" squares and stands 35" off the floor. I did not make the chess pieces, they are wood and the king is 4.55" tall. At this time this is one of a kind and I am not sure if I will make another, but if I do, it would be different as it is hand made.
