Overview
A detailer specializes in enhancing a vehicle's/equipment's appearance through thorough cleaning, restoration, and protection of both interior and exterior surfaces.
Key Responsibilities
Wash, dry, wax, and buff vehicle/equipment exteriors.
Clean interiors: vacuuming, steaming, deodorizing, shampooing carpets and upholstery.
Clean windows, door jambs, wheels, and engine compartments.
Use cleaning agents, protective coatings, waxes, polishes, and restorative products.
Inspect vehicles/equipment for defects such as scratches, dents, torn upholstery, or mechanical issues.
Document vehicle/equipment condition with reports or photos.
Move, park, or transport vehicles/equipment as needed.
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and request restocking.
Apply advanced services (in some roles): paint correction, clay bar treatment, ceramic coating, headlight restoration.
Required Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
Ability to operate detailing tools (buffers, vacuums, steamers, hoses).
Physical stamina for bending, standing, and lifting.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
Work Environment
The job involves indoor and outdoor work, exposure to cleaning chemicals, and adherence to safety protocols.
